New photos of respected humanitarians and news media leaders are now available in the TechNewsLit portfolio at the Alamy photo agency. We took both sets of images at events in Sept. 2026.

Dr. Denis Mukwege, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018, and World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés discussed their work at an Atlantic Council event on 18 Sept. Mukwege works with wartime rape victims in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and surrounding countries, treating not only their immediate wounds but also addressing the underlying social, cultural, and legal causes. World Central Kitchen, begun by chef Andrés, serves thousands of meals to people affected by wars and natural disasters worldwide.

New York Times correspondent Carl Hulse and former CNN journalist Frank Sesno recounted their stories of covering the terrorist attacks on Washington, DC on 11 Sept. 2001. Both journalists were in Washington at the time, and told their stories to a packed National Press Club event on 14 Sept. 2026. The discussion quickly evolved into the deteriorating climate for press freedom in the U.S. under the Trump administration.
